Image requirements

Upload the original files from the camera. No conversion or export step is needed.

Required on every image

  • EXIF metadata with GPS position. Practically all mapping-capable drones write this automatically.
  • Camera details in the EXIF. Used to calibrate the reconstruction.
Warning

Images without GPS data cannot be processed. Files sent through messaging apps or re-saved by an editor usually lose their EXIF.

Sensor requirements

Most outputs work with an ordinary geotagged RGB camera:

Two outputs need a specific sensor, detected automatically from the metadata:

  • NDVI needs multispectral imagery, with a near-infrared band. RGB cameras cannot record it.
  • Thermal needs radiometric thermal imagery, storing a temperature value per pixel. A colourised thermal preview does not qualify.
Good to know

You do not need separate projects. Upload the RGB and the multispectral or thermal images together, and each sensor is processed into its own layer within the same project.

The quality check detects the sensor from the metadata, so NDVI and thermal can only be selected when the matching imagery is actually present.

For what each output is, see outputs.
